Make Your Video Valuable

More and more website owners are realizing the value of adding video to their websites. Unfortunately, they are forgetting that the video itself must be of value to the customer before the video actually adds value to the website. Creating website videos can be time consuming, and it can also be costly depending on what you want for your video – but those costs are essentially money down the drain if the video isn't what it should be.
The content of your video must be high quality content, or it will not be valuable to your visitor. Furthermore, the information in the video must be of interest to your visitor, and it must be able to compel your visitor to take the action that you desire them to take.
Many people simply don't know what type of content to include in their video. Large corporations simply take the information that they already have, such as that found in their brochures, on VHS tapes, or on CD's and use that for their videos. The key is to use content that has already proven to be effective. Also, make sure that the content is up-to-date if you are simply reusing content from something else that you already have.
You do not have to limit yourself to one video. If you have several different products, you could essentially create a short video presentation for each product. When you create your videos, however, make sure that you brand them. You can include a small logo on the video to accomplish this, or make sure that you use your company name in the audio portion of the video often – but without sounding repetitive. |

View your video from several different computers, with as many different connection speeds as you can. You need to know how your visitors will see your video, and find solutions to any problems that they may encounter – before they encounter them. Pay close attention to your video, and while it is playing, make a list of things that you can change within the video that will make it more valuable to your customer.
